Hidden face found under Nefertiti bust

BERLIN – Researchers in Germany have used a modern medical procedure to uncover a secret within one of ancient Egypt's most treasured artworks — the bust of Nefertiti has two faces. A team led by Dr. Alexander Huppertz, director of the Imaging Science Institute at Berlin's Charite hospital and medical school, discovered a detailed stone carving that differs from the external stucco face when they performed a computed tomography, or CT, scan on the bust.
The findings, published Tuesday in the monthly journal Radiology, are the first to show that the stone core of the statue is a highly detailed sculpture of the queen, Huppertz said.

The differences between the faces, though slight — creases at the corners of the mouth, a bump on the nose of the stone version — suggest to Huppertz that someone expressly ordered the adjustments between stone and stucco when royal sculptors immortalized the wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten 3,300 years ago.

(Bayyinah :5)

Alfonso de Albuquerque

The well known captain who lead this conqured named Alfonso de Albuquerque. He was for some time known as The Great, The Caesar of the East and as The Portuguese Mars. He was created first Duke of Goa by king Manuel I of Portugal shortly before his death, becoming the first Portuguese duke not of the royal family, and the first Portuguese title landed overseas. He attempted to close all the Indian Ocean naval passages to the Atlantic, Red Sea, Persian Gulf, and to the Pacific.
In April 1511, he set sail from Goa to
Malacca with a force of some 1200 men and seventeen or eighteen ships. He conquered Malacca by August 24, 1511 after a severe struggle throughout July. Albuquerque remained in Malacca until November 1511 preparing its defences against any Malay counterattack. He ordered the slaughter of all the Muslim population in an effort to reduce religious divergence hoping that it would force Hindus and Muslims to convert to Christianity. He also ordered the first Portuguese ships to sail east in search of the 'Spice Island’ and ‘Maluku’.
Malacca state government has build a replica of confection (a ship that remind the Potugese ) and also Alfonso de Albuquerque.

A trip to Melacca

Last Sunday I went to the most famous historical city, Malacca. I was surprised by seeing a lot of peoples out there enjoyed their school holiday with their children. (No wonder why there were so many people here) UNESCO announced that Malacca is one of the world heritages. A lot of people around the world came to visit Malacca as their favorite destination. I met this lady who’s came from Austria with her husband.

Going by the State government's celebration of the 600th anniversary of the founding in August 1990, it could be deduced that Malacca was founded in 1390 by a prince from Sumatra named Parameswara.
Eventually, he moved up the West Coast of Malaysia and founded Malacca. Legend says that he was resting under a tree when he saw a mouse deer kicking his hunting dogs into the river and they attacked it. Declaring the place to be auspicious, he decided to set up shop and named the place after the tree he was resting under Melaka.
Eventually, Parameswara converted to Islam in 1414 and adopted the title of Sultan. Malacca was also growing into an entrepot hub for traders from across Asia, notably India, Arabia and China. Many Chinese migrants settled here during this time, establishing the
Peranakan culture for the future. Parameswara died in 1424 and was succeeded by his son.
Eventually, the Siamese attempted to conquer Malacca, but their efforts were repelled successfully. To protect their territory, Malacca established contact with the Chinese empire through the explorer Zheng He, culminating in the marriage of Sultan Mansur Shah and
Hang Li Poh, either a Chinese princess or concubine that remains a hot topic for debate till today.
A century later, the
Portuguese came, saw and conquered Malacca in 1511. This was a milestone for the Western colonists looking to extend their empire to the East Indies. Malacca continued to prosper under Portuguese rule until the Dutch came into the picture. With the help of the Sultan of Johor (descended from a Malaccan Sultan), the Dutch captured the port and ruled over it until 1795, where Malacca was ceded to the British under an exchange programme for Batavia (Jakarta) In Indonesia.

The Mummy Returns-Nafertiri

The wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten and perhaps a ruler in her own right after his death, Nefertiti was little more than a historical whisper when, in 1912, an exquisite limestone sculpture of her now-famous face was unearthed at the royal retreat of Amarna. It was more than 3,200 years old, dating from 1345 B.C.Her name, meaning "the beautiful (or perfect) woman has come," prompts some scholars to think that Nefertiti traveled to Egypt from a foreign land. Others theorize she was an Egyptian royal by birth. Still others think it unlikely that she was of royal blood, but that her father was a high government official, a man named Ay, who went on to become pharaoh after Tutankhamen (and, incidentally, may have had a hand in the boy king's death!).

Sempena Maulidur Rasul s.a.w 1430 H

Hari ini kita mengingati kelahiran junjungan besar Nabi Muhammad SAW. Tetapi persoalannya apakah kita hanya sekadar menyambutnya begitu sahaja tanpa mahu mengkaji dan mengamalkan segala sunah, perintah dan wasiatnya?
Rasullullah SAW bersabda:
Demikianlah pesan Rasullullah SAW.

Mutiara Kata Hari Ini...

Big ancient snake fossil discovered!

Do you still remember the big long snake called anaconda that appeared in a film acted by Jennifer Lopez? Today, here is the amazing discovery of the real one. Fossils from northeastern Colombia reveal the biggest snake ever discovered: a behemoth that stretched 42 to 45 feet long, reaching more than 2,500 pounds. It seems longer than a bus. They found the fossil in Northeastern Columbia. For the first time I saw this news in yahoo, I’m so amazed of the illustration drawn by the artist about the size of the snake compared to the coconut tree. The fossils suggest equatorial temperatures in its day were significantly warmer than they are now, during a time when the world as a whole was warmer.

The Lost Queen of Egypt

Hatshepsut-The Lost Queen of Egypt

Hatshepsut was the only surviving child of Pharaoh Thutmose I and Ah-Mose, born in the 15th century B.C. Her father was one of Egypt’s most successful kings, whose dazzling military campaigns established the 18th Dynasty.
More powerful than Cleopatra or Nefertiri, Hatshepsut stole the throne from her young stepson, dressed herself as a man, and in an unprecedented move, declared herself Pharaoh. Though her power stretched across Egypt and her reign was prosperous, Hatshepsut's legacy was systematically erased from Egyptian history — historical records were destroyed, monuments torn down and her corpse removed from her tomb.
The discovery of the Hatshepsut mummy is one of the most important finds in the history of Egypt. Her reign during the 18th Dynasty of ancient Egypt was a prosperous one, yet mysteriously she was erased from Egyptian history. Our hope is that this mummy will help shed light on this mystery and on the mysterious nature of her death.
